ST. VINCENT DE PAUL VILLAGE TRUCK
— on its way to All Hallows this Spring
There are numerous examples in our faith tradition of the individuals who responded, “yes”, when called. We also have times in our lives when we are called. If we react as good stewards, we live the great commandment: to love God with our whole heart, mind, soul and body, and to love others as Jesus has loved us. God wants to remind us of that stewardship, and that we must use our gifts to serve others.
Here is a way to respond:
Pray– for the intentions of the homeless in San Diego and for a stewardship response to their needs.
Share– your unneeded or excess clothing, furnishings, books, sports equipment, toys and household items when the St. Vincent de Paul Village Truck is on our campus the weekend of March 25-26.
That gives everyone a full six week to clear out those closets and garages of items that will be a treasure to someone else.
Dan Farley is heading this effort, with the Farley Family, once again this year. Dan will be speaking at all the Masses this weekend to tell you all you need to know to be part of the outreach weekend.
“Above all, maintain constant love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift you have received. Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ.” – 1 Peter 4
