Pentecost Mass for All Peoples Event
Location and time for 2026 to be determined.
Every year during the Feast of Pentecost, the various Catholic cultural communities within the diocese unite for a spirited, multilingual Mass dedicated to honoring their shared faith and diverse heritages.
A Journey of Faith and Fellowship
The tradition began in 2018 at Good Shepherd Parish, drawing an initial crowd of 1,500 participants. To accommodate growing interest, the 2019 liturgy transitioned to Cathedral Catholic High School, where attendance rose to 2,000. Even the challenges of 2020 couldn’t halt the celebration; the Mass moved online, reaching nearly 5,000 viewers via live-stream. And then:
- 2021: The community returned to Good Shepherd for an outdoor service.
- 2022: The event moved back indoors at Cathedral Catholic High School.
- 2023: A historic high of 3,200 people gathered at Miramar College for the liturgy.
- 2024: The celebration returned once more to Cathedral Catholic High School.
- 2025: Hosted again at the high school, this edition featured a moving standing ovation for the newly appointed Bishop Michael Pham, who founded the event eight years prior.
- 2026: Location and time to be determined.
The diocesan Pentecost Mass serves as a powerful reminder for all to Gather As One human family, bound together by the universal love of God.
