The church continues the celebration of The Great Feast of Christmas today with The Feast of the Epiphany, a word coming from the Greek that means an awakening, a manifestation, or a revelation. It is used to describe a new idea, or insight, a different way of looking at something, or any situation with something new bursts upon the scene. In today’s liturgy, epiphany describes how Jesus was made manifest, or revealed to the whole world, as God made flesh, or God with us, through the Gentile or pagan magi.
“It takes real humility to have an epiphany, because it means that you don’t already know everything there is to know about a person or a situation, and that there is more to be discovered,” says Father Jerry in today’s video above. “And epiphany demands an openness to new opinions, to new information, to a new way of looking at a person or a situation.”
Let us pray. And thank you for watching!
