In Jesus’ time, the people don’t get the idea of Jesus giving His flesh to eat, or His blood to drink, but they know they’re hungry. They are hungry for respect and dignity as human beings, created by God. They are hungry for being able to do something that matters for their families and communities. They are hungry for a sense of meaning and purpose in their lives. And they are thirsty… parched for justice, for optimism, and hope for a sense of belonging.
“We, in 2021, know that same hunger. We thirst for these same things,” says Father Jerry in today’s new video.
