“I think it was sometime last month, I quoted from an article written by Yvonne Abraham for the Boston Globe,” said Father Jerry in today’s homily, “I paraphrased what she said. Today, I’d like to read you the whole thing, because I think it’s important as we sort of come out of hibernation because of COVID-19.”
What would the world be like if the things that have become most important to us during this pandemic remain so? How would our lives look if our values and priorities were frozen — right here? If we were always as kind to each other, and as worried about the world as we are today?
We would plan better for tomorrow, and next year, and the year after that. We would leave less unsaid. We would slow the heck down. We would be more grateful for all we have, and more outraged at what others do not. We would we will be happier on the other side of all this… If we remember.
